It is my 54th anniversary dahlings! Celebrating life! Every day is a gift.
Many highlights...I got to see my son pitch every game of his season and watch my daughter graduate college. I started a new day gig in music production with some fabulous people and expanded my client roster as a life coach. I took a few trips, had some amazing experiences. One that stands out is walking through an outdoor thrift market in Columbia, Tennessee where I ran into a woman I had only met once. She said, "I love your posts. You have no idea how much they help me. I screenshot and share them." Very encouraging in fact, it is what I live for. If I can make a difference in one person's life by sharing my life experience, then I am super grateful.
I learned many lessons in the last year. Lessons about self care, being true and good to myself. I woke up with a few quotes running through my head. Funny how some just stick with you. I remembered these tidbits of wisdom:
Penni said, "Never allow once what you wouldn't allow for a lifetime."
She said this to me before my first child was born about parenting. It was a hard one. But I have taken this thought with me throughout my life. Boundaries. We teach people how to treat us.
Tom said, "The universe is generous, learn the lesson now or it will come back around."
If you are in a dysfunctional situation, relationship, job, unhealthy pattern, take inventory and find out what you need to change within yourself and change it!
C.S Lewis said, "You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream!" I am living this. I started over at 49, "But, hey age ain't nothing but a number!" That's what the young ones tell me.
If you are in a challenging time in your life, hang in there. I have often been gripped with fear, anxiety and depression along my journey. Many times I wanted to give up. I practice what I preach imperfectly. Reach out to someone you trust. Add some tools to your toolbox and give yourself grace. Count your blessings and celebrate your wins. Hey, if you got up today and you are reading this there is still a plan and purpose for your life.
Do not give in or give up! I won't if you don't!!!
